Please, review and give suggestions for improvement for my site. I do a Radio Show on 630KHOW Denver and I designed the Web-site to support the Radio Show.

Thanks,

The layout gives the right effect as it isnt generic on the front page so keeps you looking all over, rather than just scrolling down.

Where as plenty of accessibility and functionality is retained by the simple menu. White background means no strained eyes.

Great! Like the flash on the header

Hi Steve,

Well you asked for it... please know that my comments are meant to help you attract more customers not to criticize. Just a few tips from my experiences.

Since you only have about few seconds to attract a customer before they move onto another website, it's best to pick the most important message you want to get across to your customers and display that prominently in the center of your home page without scrolling down the page at all.

In my opinion, I think there may be too many things going on at once that might make someone feel very overwhelmed and move on to another website. I counted 5 moving parts/flashes at the same time as soon as I clicked onto your home page. I know how hard it is to stand back and evaluate your own website because it all makes sense to you and you know exactly what you are all about. After all, you built the site.

First I have a few questions:
- Are you a real estate agent or a talk show host?
- If you are both, which is more important to you (i.e. sustains your income).
- Is the radio show a byproduct of being a real estate agent or are you a talk show host first and then decided to sell real estate?

I'm only asking because it wasn't clear to me by spending a few seconds on your website (remember, we don't have much longer than that to keep someone on our site). If you are into real estate first, then I'd advertise that first, grab the customer's attention with the real estate and then say... "By the way, I have this great informational talk show I host that attracts "x" amount of people and has been on the air for "x" amount of years."

If I were looking for a real estate agent, I'd be more likely to go with you because you would appear to be "an expert" because you even have your own show.

If you are a talk show host first, I'd make that the most prominent thing on your page and make real estate secondary.

Just my $.02 for what it's worth...

Hi Lori;

Thank you for your feedback. I'm actually a mortgage banker and I came up with the notion of the radio show to be different. I make the radio show and the web-site about real estate because this is the value I bring to the realtor community. I also have to be sensitive to sponsors since I no longer have to pay for the show, it's paid for by the sponsors. My long term goal however is to be a talk show host prime time-full time.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Hi Steve,

I'm so glad you told me your primary goal is to eventually do a prime time show... it puts into perspecitve for me a little better.

I hope you don't mind, but I spent about a half hour and made up a mock homepage for you to look at if you want to. Keeping in mind that you really built the website for your talk show, here's what I came up with (FWIW).

If you scroll down far enough so you don't see my header, just past my tabs and the guitars, it will give you a good idea of what I was talking about when I recommended placing your primary focus front and center on the page.

Notice that the first thing your eyes see is a big picture of you on the air and then a little blurb below that about what you do and when your show is on. On either side I that you can line the page with your sponsors but I think it is important to keep those picture links about 150 pixels wide because your primary focus should be on you as and your talk show. People will naturally gravitate to your sponsors on the sides and check them out also.

Hope these suggestions help... take them or leave them, I certainly won't be offended if you don't like them. Just trying to help a fellow ebizzer get the most out of his website. Hopefully it will spark your creativity :)
