Accepting PayPal On Your Site
PayPal Standard is the most basic and least expensive PayPal integration option to accept payments on your website. Connecting your PayPal account using this method involves simply checking a box and entering your PayPal ID.
Step 1 - Login to your website account and click the Store tab at the top of your screen.
Step 2 - Select the Payment Methods / Merchant Account page link on the main Store settings page.
Step 3 - Click the PayPal Standard check box and then enter your PayPal account ID in the box that appears. Then click the Apply Changes button at the bottom of the page to save. That's it. Your website shopping cart is not connected to your PayPal account.
PayPal is a good option, especially if you're just starting out, because there's no long approval process. You can literally get your account up and running in less than an hour. Their processing fees are also reasonable and in line with what other banks would charge you if you had your own merchant account. There are no costs to you until you have received a payment from someone. PayPal is also well recognized as a trusted way to pay. Nobody is going to give you any complaints about paying through PayPal.
PayPal also can grow with you as your business grows. They offer more advanced integration options to further enhancement and streamline the checkout process on your website. So as you do more business over time, you can upgrade to those more advanced options once you can actually afford them.
